FL 1 terminal Inflorescences produced on the ends of the twigs or branches.
FL 2 axillary or basal Inflorescences produced on the twigs or branches back from the tip and usually in the axils of the leaves (axillary), or produced on special shoots emerging from the base of a plant (basal), e.g. Commercial Ginger (Zingiber officinale) or Weevil Lily (Molineria capitulata).
FL 3 cauliflorous Inflorescences produced on the stem of the plant.
FL 4 ramiflorous Inflorescences produced on the branches of the plant well back from the leaves.

Inflorescence position

This refers to the position of the flowers or inflorescences on the plant.
