FR 3 simple from a single flower Fruit derived from a single flower with a single pistil.
FR 4 aggregate from several separate carpels of single flower A collection of fruiting carpels (either fused or free) produced by a polycarpous apocarpous gynoecium.
FR 5 multiple from several separate flowers Fruit derived from several flowers but fused to form one fruit mass.

Fruit derivation

Be careful when using these features because it is necessary to have some knowledge of the flowers to be sure about the fruit derivation and such knowledge is often difficult to obtain from mature fruits.
