Chlorophyll absent Whole plant colourless, whitish, reddish or yellowish with no green tinge.

Chlorophyll in stems or leaves

Chlorophyll is the green pigment which captures sunlight and carbon dioxide to produce simple sugars for the plant. It allows plants to be independent of sources of organic carbon (autotrophic).
