Australian Tropical Rainforest Plants - Online edition
The cotyledons are the seedling leaves. They appear above ground in seeds with epigeal germination only. Cotyledon features can be used for these seedlings only.
Oil dots are small translucent dots or cigar-shaped structures which are visible when the cotyledon is held up to the light. Oil dots are readily seen in leaves from citrus trees.
