Swampy areas. Ranges south from Deua National Park. One record from near Yaouk, north of Adaminaby.
Perennial herb to 0.45 m tall, mainly hairless. Leaves mainly basal, 4-30 cm long, 1-3 mm wide, mainly hairless but at least the lower leaves with long, coarse, brownish hairs at the base, margins usually entire, very rarely with several small linear lobes. A few narrow stem leaves, which reduce in length upwards towards the flower head. Flower heads behind the 'petals' almost cone shaped, with 54-77 white or mauve 'petals' each 10-16.2 mm long, and yellow centres about 8-15 mm in diameter. Bracts appressed to the flower heads 25–40. Flowering: mostly Jun.–Feb.
