Where found

Mallee heath and shrubland, in rocky areas or on poorly drained soils. North of Tathra. Coast, ranges, and tablelands.

Notes

Mallee to 7 m tall.  Bark smooth, shedding in ribbons, often with scribbles.  Juvenile stems rounded in cross section, usually non-glaucous, warty.  Juvenile leaves opposite each other for about 4 or 5 pairs, then alternating up the stems, 7-14 cm long, 15-35 mm wide, glossy, green.  Adult leaves alternating up the stems, 6-13 cm long, 6-16 mm wide, glossy, green.  Flowers white, with 0 petals.  Flower clusters 7-11 flowered.  Mature flower buds 6–9 mm long, caps shorter than the base.  Flowers most of the year.  Gumnuts 6-11 mm in diameter.  Gumnuts that have dropped their seed have valves that are not very noticeable.

Intergrades with Eucalyptus burgessiana on the coast north from Jervis Bay, and with Eucalyptus apiculata in the southern Blue Mountains.
