Annual or perennial herb to 0.3 m tall, prostrate to sprawling. Stems hairless or with cottony hairs. Leaves basal and alternating along the stems. Basal leaves 3-9 cm long, 7-11 mm wide, narrowing towards the base, margins wavy to lobed. Stem leaves smaller, broader, not narrowing, with a basal lobe on one side. Leaves almost hairless, toothed to lobed. Flowers yellow, 10–18 mm long, tubular, the tube split to the base, 2-lipped, with 5 lobes. Flowers on stalks to 35 mm long, appearing single, in leafy elongated clusters. Seeds oblong to elliptic, about 3 mm long, brownish, more or less bristly.
