Disturbed forest, roadsides, and moist sites. Ranges north from Kangaroo Valley. Sydney area and north. Canberra. Occasionally elsewhere.
Introduced perennial herb to 0.3 m high, creeping, spreading by slender hairy stolons which root at the nodes. Fruit fleshy. Leaves basal, alternating along the stolons, compound, with 3 leaflets each 0.5–5 cm long, 7.5–25 mm wide, hairy to hairless, margins toothed. Flowers yellow, with 5 petals each 5–8 mm long, and 5 green sepals each 6–10 mm long. Fruit turning red at maturity, 10–15 mm long. Fruit edible but insipid. Flowering: mostly spring to summer.
