Woodland, lawns, gardens and disturbed areas. Widespread.
Introduced annual herb to 0.10 m high. Stems hairy. Leaves opposite each other, 0.3–1.8 cm long, 2–14 mm wide, margins bluntly toothed or scalloped, tips blunt, bases squared off to cordate. Flowers blue, mauve, or pinkish, with a short tube 1–2 mm long, and 4 spreading lobes. Stamens 2. Flowers appearing single. Flowers spring and summer.
Family was Scrophulariaceae.
