Lenticels small and numerous. Bark coarsely flaky. Living bark layer very thin. Blaze finely layered.

Leaf blades about 3-6 x 1.5-2.5 cm. Midrib raised on the upper surface and lateral veins forming loops inside the blade margin. Leafy twigs slender, about 1 mm diam., lenticels pale and numerous. Stipules about 4-10 mm long, densely clothed in prostrate brown hairs and similarly the young shoots.

Male flowers: Flowers about 3-4 mm diam. on long filiform pedicels.

Capsules without horns, about 7 mm wide before dehiscing. Seeds probably about 5-6 mm long. (Good fruiting material not available).

Cotyledons broadly elliptic to obovate, about 13-15 x 10-11 mm, +/- falcate, apex broadly obtuse, base with one side +/- cuneate and the other +/- obtuse/rounded. Venation densely reticulate, minor veins well developed. Cotyledons much wider than the first leaves. First leaves with serrate margins, scattered hairs on the midrib of the lower surface, interpetiolar stipules conspicuous, about 1.5 mm long, thin and hairy. Stem and hypocotyl clothed in short hairs. At the tenth leaf stage: leaf blade +/- elliptic, apex acute, base cuneate, margin with about 11-14 teeth on each side, each tooth ending in an apiculate point. Midrib raised on the upper surface. Stipules filiform or narrowly triangular, about 2-2.5 mm long. Terminal bud and axillary buds reddish. Stem clothed in short white hairs.

Endemic to Queensland. Occurs in CYP and the northern part of NEQ. Known only from a few collections on the Rocky and Chester Rivers and the Cape Melville area. Altitudinal range from near sea level to about 100 m. Grows in well developed rain forest and gallery forest.
