Provisional HISPID phrase name.

Stem

A slender vine not exceeding a stem diameter of 2 cm. Adventitious roots present on most parts of the vine stem.

Leaves

Leaf blades about 11.5-16 x 1-1.7 cm, margins toothed towards the apex, petioles absent. Auricles present at the base of the leaf blade, auricle margins smooth.

Flowers

Inflorescence a 3-branched umbel of spikes (spadices). Inflorescence subtended by a series of white or white and maroon bracts about 5cm or more long.

Fruit

Infructescence about 2 x 1 cm, on a stalk about 1-1.5 cm long. Seeds numerous in each individual fruit, each seed about 0.7 x 0.2 mm.

Seedlings

Features not available.

Distribution and Ecology

Endemic to CYP(?) Known only from collections made in the Claudie River and McIlwraith Range areas. Altitudinal range from sea level to 600 m. Grows in lowland and upland rain forest.
