A slender vine not exceeding a stem diameter of 2 cm.
Leaf blades about 2-4.5 x 1.5-3.5 cm, petioles about 1-3.5 cm long. Teeth mainly on the basal half of the leaf blade margin.
Pedicels short, about 1.5-4 mm long. Sepals about 3.5-5 mm long, apex mucronate. Corolla tube about 6-12 mm long, glabrous on the outer surface, hairy towards the base on the inner surface. Staminal filaments hairy towards the base. Pollen grains smooth. Ovary glabrous. Style about 5 mm long. Stigma globular, obscurely 2-lobed, surface warty and papillose.

Occurs in WA, NT, CYP, NEQ and CEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 150 m. Grows in open forest, gallery forest and rain forest. Also occurs in Africa, Mascarene Islands, Asia (from Sri Lanka to southern China) Malesia and the Pacific islands.
