Usually flowers and fruits as a shrub about 1-2 m tall.

Leaf blades small, about 10-20 x 3-6 mm, petioles about 0.5-1 mm long. Stipules small, less than 1 mm long, inconspicuous. Twigs finely hairy.

Flowers glabrous, about 2 mm diam. Perianth lobes dimorphic, three large and three small. Male and female flowers on long slender pedicels, male pedicel longer. Staminal filaments hairy but the rest of the male flower glabrous. Ovary seated on a disk, ovules 2 per locule. Stigmas large, +/- bilobed, obscuring the apex of the ovary.

Perianth lobes persistent at the base of the fruit. Capsules about 8-9 mm diam., disintegrating at maturity, leaving only the central axis attached to the pedicel. Cotyledons much wider than the radicle.

Endemic to Queensland, occurs in CYP and NEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 50 m. Usually grows in open forest, heath or vine thickets on recent or old sand hills, occasionally found in monsoon forest.
