Tree to 14 m tall, crown branched. Trunk thick, with sparse spiny, conical nodules on trunk (warty), and with many long to 3 m prickly prop roots. Plants male or female.

Distribution and Ecology
Occurs in CYP from the Iron Range in the north to Silver Plains in the south. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 300 m. Grows in rainforest and vine forest.
