Leaf blade narrow-elliptic or lanceolate, 4.5-18.5 cm long, 0.6-1.2 cm wide, base attenuate or cuneate, margins entire, recurved, apex bluntly acute or obtuse. Lateral veins 26-35 pairs, intramarginal vein present. Domatia absent. Upper surface green, glossy and hairless, lower surface yellowish green and sparsely hairy. Two to three (sometimes more) widely spaced, small, flat glands visible on the underside of the leaf blade between the midrib and each margin.

Sepals imbricate, fused only shortly at base, lobes c. 1 mm long, pedicel and sepals hairy. Petals free, lobes c. 2.5 mm long, concave, glabrous or slightly hairy on outer surface. Stamens 8 or 10 (twice the number of petals), filaments more or less free, flattened with stamens alternating with petals up to twice as wide as those opposite petals, hairy on margins and inner surface for upper two thirds. Disk present beneath 5 (usually), apparently free carpels, superior, densely hairy; styles united; stigma solitary.
