Stem

A slender vine not exceeding a stem diameter of 2 cm.

Leaves

Twigs and petioles produce a milky exudate. Leaf blades about 5-10 x 2-5.5 cm, petioles about 1-2 cm long. Colleters (small finger-like glands) visible on the upper surface of the midrib near its junction with the petiole. Twigs, petioles and the underside of the leaf blades clothed in brown or rusty brown hairs.

Flowers

Young inflorescence clothed in short ferruginous hairs. Flowers about 7-10 mm diam. on pedicels about 1.5-2 mm long. Sepals lanceolate-ovate, about 2-3 mm long. Corolla lobes reflexed, about 4.6-6 x 2 mm. Staminal corona about 1.5x 1.5 mm. Fide Forster (1996).

Distribution and Ecology

Occurs in WA. Altitudinal range not known but probably extends from near sea level to 200 m. Grows in vine thicket. Also occurs in New Guinea and other parts of Malesia.
