A thin pale brown layer generally visible beneath the subrhytidome layer before the first section of the outer blaze.
Twigs slightly fluted, clothed in straight, pale brown, appressed hairs. Leaf blades about 7.3-12.6 x 2.3-3.7 cm glaucous on the underside, clothed in straight, pale brown, appressed hairs when young but almost glabrous at maturity. Midrib raised or flush with the upper surface. Petioles flat on the upper surface. Oil dots visible with a lens. Lateral veins forming loops inside the blade margin. Pale brown lenticels usually obvious on the twigs.
Fruits about 45-65 x 36-70 mm, wider than long, slightly bilobed and laterally compressed. Cotyledons cream or yellowish.
