Family Description

A family of four genera and about 60 species, pantropic; two genera occur naturally in Australia.

Genera

Gyrocarpus - A genus of about three to seven species (depending on species concepts) pantropic; one species occurs naturally in Australia. Duyfjes (1996); Kubitzki (1969); Telford (2007).

Hernandia - A genus of about 24 species, pantropic; three species occur naturally in Australia. Cooper & Cooper (2004); Duyfjes (1996); Harden et al. (2041);  Kubitzki (1969); Smith (1981); Telford (2007).
