Solanum fervens A.R.Bean
Bean, A.R. (2004) Austrobaileya 686: 6(4). Type: Queensland. Cook District: eastern bank of Jardine River mouth, 1 September 1985, J.R. Clarkson 6219.
Erect, rhizomatous perennial shrub 1-2 m tall.
Twigs, petioles and leaf blades armed with prickles 3-5 mm long and with dense stellate hairs. Adult leaves lanceolate or ovate, shallowly lobes on each side. Lamina 7.5-14 cm long, 2-4.5 cm wide. Prickles absent on upper and lower surface. Stellate hairs absent on upper surface or confined to midrib, dense on underside.
Fruits 1-3 per inflorescence, globular, about 9-12 mm diam., red. Seeds about 3-3.5 mm long.
