Usually flowers and fruits as a multistemmed shrub about 2-4 mm tall.

Stipules hairy, small and linear-lanceolate, about 0.5-1 mm long. Leaf blades about 2.5-5.5 x 1.8-3 cm, petioles about 0.2-0.5 cm long. Lateral veins about 5-7, looping inside the margin, margin entire or with 1 or 2 teeth towards the apex. Venation pale and intricate when viewed in transmitted light.

Male flowers: Inflorescences 1-3-flowered. Flowers about 3-4 mm diam., pedicels about 1.5-3.8 mm long. Stamens 6, anthers about 0.5-1 mm long, filaments about 0.5-0.7 mm long. Disk consisting of irregular lobes. Female flowers features not available.

Fruit globose-ovoid, about 10-15 x 10-12 mm, glabrous.

Cotyledons heart-shaped, +/- sessile, about 16-19 x 13-17 mm, apex rounded, base truncate, 3-5-veined at the base. First leaves narrowly ovate, about 17-33 x 10-23 mm, apex acute, base truncate, petioles about 2-3 mm long. Margins strongly dentate, holly-like (Ilex aquifolium), the teeth ending in long, fine, stiff points. Stipules small, triangular, less than 1 mm long, hairy. At the tenth leaf stage: leaf blade deeply serrate, holly-like, the teeth (up to four on each side) ending in fine subulate apices. Stem and petioles densely hairy. Terminal bud densely clothed in pale hairs. Stipules triangular, about 0.7-1 mm long, densely hairy. Seed germination time 57 to 242 days.

Endemic to Queensland, occurs in CYP and NEQ. Altitudinal range from near sea level to 70 m Grows in vine thickets particularly on old sand dunes.
