A small tree not exceeding 30 cm dbh.
Flowers about 4-5 mm diam. Calyx obscurely 2-lipped, about 1.5-2 mm long, puberulous and densely glandular outside when young. Corolla about 4-7 mm long, tube +/- cylindrical, about 2.5-4 mm long, almost twice as long as the calyx. Corolla lobes about 2 mm long. Corolla hairy with a ring of white hairs where the staminal filaments are attached. Stamens exserted, inserted on the throat of the corolla, filaments glabrous, about 2-5 mm long. Anthers globose, about 0.5 mm long. Ovary globose, glabrous, about 1 mm diam. Style glabrous, about 3-6 mm long.
Cotyledons about 9 x 6 mm, hairy on both the upper and lower surfaces. First pair of leaves sparsely hairy on both the upper and lower surfaces, margin toothed. At the tenth leaf stage: leaf blade ovate, apex acute, base cuneate or obtuse, margin coarsely toothed. Taproot orange. Seed germination time 285 to 326 days.
